Recipient of the Golden Bell Award from the California School Board Association ( one of the most prestigious educational recognition’s in California) for The Yo Puedo program based on student participants’ outcomes of increasing their grade point average, improving high school graduation rates and the unusually high percentage of students being accepted and enrolling in colleges and universities (1991). Recipient of a Doctoral Fellowship from the University of San Francisco in International and Multicultural Education. The research focused on key factors in education that promote social justice, equity and peace in the world (1998-2001–2001).
